You’ll also find the Farmer’s Market, sidewalk sales, outdoor concerts, local eateries and food vendors to enhance the festive atmosphere.

The Big Paddle

The Big Paddle event at the Port begins at 9:00 with a Chinook Drumming and Blessing ceremony. Then, a flotilla of kayaks and canoes will paddle five miles round-trip along Lake River to the confluence with the Columbia River. The flotilla will include the Chinook Tribe's 30' canoe and the Lower Columbia Estuary Partnership's two 34' canoes. Paddle participants will experience the sights and sounds of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge, visit historical sites like where Lewis & Clark landed, and enjoy water healthy fun and recreation.

The Open Paddle starts at 1 pm at the Boathouse. There will be naturalists and guides on this 2.5 mile paddle along Lake River. Many activities will be going on at the port throughout the day, but the Tribal Blessing and big canoes are only part of the morning activity.

Ridgefield is celebrating the river on June 1st, 2019 with its Eighth Annual BIG Paddle.

Enjoy a pancake breakfast in downtown Ridgefield and then head to the Port for a two hour canoe, kayak or paddleboard adventure OR enjoy other festivities like vendors at Paddler's Village at the Port, a Totally Awesome Scavenger Challenge around the Ridgefield area, live music with Chicamarimba, a beer garden, an obstacle course for all ages, First Saturday events including a Farmer's Market in historic downtown Ridgefield and a "Follow the Fish" trail connecting the two areas.
